Domain renewal reminder
Registrars usually send renewal emails, but they end up in spam or on an old address. If a domain isn't renewed, the website and email on it stop working. One reminder on the right day prevents that.
Ready-made reminder
- Title
- Renew example.com
- Date
- The domain's registration expiry date
- Remind in advance
- a week before, plus a custom date a month before
- Repeat
- every year
Free, no card. The template doesn't create a record by itself: you enter the title and dates yourself. Email to @mail.ru addresses is currently blocked, so use Telegram for those.
Why a reminder helps
- When registration ends, the site and email on the domain stop working.
- Registrars have different recovery rules, often with an extra fee.
- The registrar's emails go to an old address and nobody reads them.
How to set it up
- Check the expiry date in your registrar's account.
- With several domains, create a separate reminder for each one and put the domain in the title.
- Turn on the yearly repeat so you don't have to recreate the reminder after renewing.
Create it in a minute
- Open the LaterDrop bot in Telegram or sign up on the website.
- Create a new record with the title from the template.
- Enter the date, choose “Remind in advance” and a repeat if you need one.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I don't renew a domain in time?
The website and email on it stop working. What follows depends on the registrar: many have a recovery period, usually at a higher price. It's better not to get there.
Where can I see when my domain expires?
In your registrar's account. If you'd rather not log in, ask the registrar or check a public whois service.
Can I remind several people at once?
Yes. Reminders can go to other people and groups, for example the site admin and the business owner.
